TENCEL Lyocell Filament is produced by extruding a cellulosic solution through fine spinnerets to create continuous, parallel filaments. Those filaments are processed directly into ready-to-use yarns, avoiding the conventional staple-fibre spinning stage required for many other textile yarns.

Lenzing describes the resulting yarn as smooth, uniform and strong, supporting lightweight fabrics with fluid drape. This distinction matters in construction planning because continuous filament and staple yarns offer different starting architectures, even when both ultimately supply regenerated cellulose to a knitted or woven fabric.
