Lenzing describes an approach that combines yarn pretreatment and knitting technique to produce wash-down or vintage effects in TENCEL Lyocell fabrics. Instead of repeated dyeing and bleaching, the process aims to create the desired appearance through one round of dyeing.

The method is intended to work with existing mill machinery and can also use fibres made with REFIBRA technology. Its significance lies in coordinating preparation, knitted construction and coloration, allowing a casual aged effect without reproducing every step of a conventional denim finishing route.
