Lenzing's stretch-fabric development combines a re-engineered TENCEL Lyocell woven construction with pretreatment. During wet processing, fibres swell in diameter, increasing the crimp of yarns across the fabric width. That structural change allows the cloth to extend and recover.

The approach demonstrates a route to stretch based on fibre behaviour and yarn geometry rather than requiring an elastane component in the described fabric. Lenzing also provides development support to mills evaluating stretch and recovery against BS EN 14704-1, connecting construction choices with measured performance.
