Easy-Iron Merino uses a setting treatment intended to reduce creases, including the edge distortion sometimes seen in fine-gauge knitwear. Woolmark describes application during finishing by spraying, dipping or padding. A silicone polymer may also be included to reduce friction between the iron and fabric.

The example separates crease formation from how easily an iron moves across the surface. Both influence care convenience, but neither removes the need to follow the garment's permitted ironing temperature. The finish changes handling characteristics within a wool textile rather than creating a new fibre category.
