Neulana Protect uses Australian Merino wool in a construction designed for wind and rain resistance. Woolmark describes pre-stretching fibers through OPTIM technology before spinning and weaving. During dyeing and finishing, the fabric contracts strongly, creating a compact structure with a different handle from conventional worsted cloth.

The dense construction reduces air permeability and improves resistance to showers, while producing a crisp, resilient surface. The reference presents it as an outerwear alternative to polyamide fabric. This is a useful natural-fiber example because the intended performance comes from processing and weave density, rather than assuming ordinary loosely woven wool automatically has the same protective qualities.
